Davao City—The Department of Education Davao City Division received classrooms from the Filipino-Chinese Cultural Foundation. The groundbreaking ceremonies was officiated at Agdao Elementary School on October 5, 2018, in commemoration of the Republic of China 107 National Day of Celebration.
 According to the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS), Dr. Maria Ines C. Asuncion CESO V, the donated classrooms shall be of great importance to the recipient schools. “This will capacitate our school heads and teachers. Most of all, this will be essential for learners in order for them to grow with confidence as proud Davaoeños, who are fully-equipped with the 21st century skills, knowledgeable, skilled and who can also effectively communicate and deliver their message to the public,” SDS Asuncion said.
SDS Asuncion also expressed her gratitude to Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio for the mayor’s invaluable support in all of the educational programs and related endeavors crafted by the DepEd Division of Davao City.
“May I respectfully thank our Mayor Inday for being a great leader, a steward of change in all aspects, most especially in the educational sector,” SDS Asuncion remarked.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, SDS Asuncion initiated the handing over of the Agila token to Mr. Benito Mesina, and the Plaque of Appreciation to the Fil- Chinese Cultural Foundation.
“The more partners we get to help our schools, the better education we can give to our children, our future generation,” SDS Asuncion said.
The Department of Education Davao City Division spearheaded by the Schools Division Superintent, Dr. Maria Ines C. Asuncion, and Assistant Schools Division Superintendents Emma A. Camporedondo, CESE and Basilio Mana-ay Jr., CESE continue the dynamism to formulate and implement programs, and forge partnerships with local and international stakeholders in society, in order to ensure a quality education for all learners throughout the years.
