Davao City—The Local School Board (LSB) of Davao City held a meeting at the DepEd Division Conference Room on Thursday, September 6, 2018.

“May I take this opportunity to thank the City Government of Davao and the City Mayor for their generosity,” Dr. Maria Ines C. Asuncion CESO V, the Schools Division Superintendent (SDS) of DepEd Division of Davao City, said in her message. alt

The proposed allocation for the annual budget were as follows: School Supervision (33%), Public Education (5%), Manpower development (31%) and Sports Development (31%).  

More specifically, the budget includes project proposals in relation to the Special Education Program, Learning Resource Management and Development System, Planning and Monitoring, Madrassah, Integrated School Health programs, Drug Abuse Education,  Sunday High School program, Senior High School program, K to 12 curriculum enhancement program, Kindergarten programs, and the Public Education programs involving the LSB teachers, the Alternative Learning System, and the Sports Development programs. The budget also takes into account the proposed construction of 71 classrooms and furniture to the newly established schools.

SDS Asuncion appreciates the fact that the City Government of Davao continues to allocate budget for the educational and sports programs in the city. “There will be a financial assistance to be given by the DepEd Central Office for the electrification of the billeting quarters, which will be used for the Palarong Pambansa. We target to repair the billeting quarters. We will ensure that there will be no redundant projects,” SDS Asuncion said.

The City Government of Davao under the leadership of Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio duly represented by Councilor Pilar Braga and the Department of Education Davao City Division spearheaded by Dr. Maria Ines C. Asuncion CESO V, Schools Division Superintendent, together with the members of the Local School Board convened for the conference.
