Writeshop on Reading and Development Print

altPursuant to the Policy Guidelines on the Administration of the Revised Philippine Informal Reading Inventory and in support to Every Child a Reader Program, DepEd Division of Davao City is set to administer a Capacity Building on Reading and Development Program which aims to arm teachers with diagnostic tools to determine students’ abilities and needs in reading through a learner-oriented, responsive and culturally sensitive approach. The activity kicked off with a Writeshop on Reading and Development last July 12 to 14, 2018 at Imelda Elementary School. The three-day activity was attended by School Principals, English teachers and reading coordinators of Secondary and Elementary Schools. The activity was implemented as a preparation for the Training of Trainers this coming July 25-29, 2018 at the same venue. Reading Consultant Leonila Thelma C. Liberato, former Education Program Supervisor provided insights during the planning and material preparation.

The Schools Division Superintendent Maria Ines C. Asuncion, CESO V finds it necessary to conduct an activity to address the educators’ need for additional training on the principles and practices of effective reading instruction. The said activity responds to the need of our teachers for an intensive capacity building in teaching reading among learners.alt
