“I am so happy to be here with you in spite of all the activities. I know that there were big activities that we went through. We started with the January DAVRAA. It was exemplarily done. After that, we got the Iron  Man;  all the schools participated there. After DAVRAA, we had the ISO. We did it together, with flying colors. I am so happy with the performance of each one of you. I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart,” said Dr. Maria Ines C. Asuncion, CESO V, DepEd Davao City Schools Division Superintendent.

Furthermore, the said Capacity Building also became an avenue for all government employees working under DepEd to share their knowledge and expertise, as well as to forge good and strong working relationship with their colleagues.

“Many things can be learned through informal talks. The purpose why I did not put too much structure for today and yesterday’s activity is that we need to learn from each other through informal talks. I did this in purpose. I learned so much and I have known you better when you are in your unguarded moments.  I would understand you better.  In structured moments, you put your best foot forward.  But we need to understand you. We need to have casual conversation so you can open up. So, you must open up to each other. If we shall have something like this in the future, you put your time and you also invest in creating personal interactions with your colleagues; because the more you establish your relationship with each other, the better work we can do, for the organization. I have much to say but I would like to summarize this with a big ‘thank you’. I  would like you to invest your time and energy again for our next venture, ” SDS Asuncion said.

SDS Asuncion also enjoined all sections and units to express the needs and concerns of their respective offices.  Issues on the procurement of necessary office supplies such as air-condition units and outside LED wall, the repair and maintenance of specific structures, good electrification of offices, and improvements in the physical engineering and design inside and outside the division office, were raised during the closing program. The concerned personnel readily pledged to perform their part in the realization of the said projects.

To conclude the activity, SDS Asuncion reminded all the importance of nurturing all hearts with values.

“We have different values but just examine your values. Whatever temptations you have now, look at your values. Just listen to the voice of your conscience. We are educators, we are the models to society. Thank you so much for the big achievements of DepEd Davao City,” SDS Asuncion said.
