Oplan Balik Eskwela 2016 PDF Print E-mail

All Systems Go for Oplan Balik Eskwela

Exactly a week after the launching of Brigada Eskwela 2016, public schools all over the country are now gearing-up for the Oplan Balik Eskwela which started on Monday, June 6, 2016.

altIn Davao City National High School (DCNHS), one of the biggest public secondary schools in the Division of Davao City, a big number of students together with their parents and guardians flocked to its campus at F. Torres Street for the first day of enrolment. Faculty and staff of DCNHS readily and smoothly facilitated the enrolment by conducting conferences and orientations for parents of transferees and incoming grade 7 students. Orientations are necessary to educate the parents regarding the policies and guidelines of school.

Weeks before the enrolment period, confirmation and enrolment procedures, class schedules, and the sectioning of students were already formulated as per instruction of Dr. Wenefredo E. Cagape, Principal IV of DCNHS. All these information were made available to the public through tarpaulins and the use of social media. Dr. Cagape wanted to ensure a smooth and orderly enrolment to avoid congestions and replication of problems encountered in the past.

More or less 9,000 students are expected to enrol at DCNHS for School Year 2016-2017. Dr. Cagape is challenged and overwhelmed by this large number of enrolees in DCNHS. “It is challenging and at the same time overwhelming because a lot of students chose to stay and enrol to [Davao City] City High”, Cagape said. “This only means trust and confidence from our stakeholders”, he added.

This year’s enrolment is also unique because it is the first time for DCNHS to cater the incoming grade 11 students for Senior High School in pursuance to the K to 12 Enhanced Basic Education Program. DCNHS is set to offer all Senior High School tracks except for the Sports track. As of June 6, there are already 748 students who have enrolled to Senior High School. Of the 748 enrolees, thirty (30) students chose the Arts and Design Track, 189 students opted to take Applied Business and Management (Academic Track – ABM), 131 went for Humanities and Social Sciences (Academic Track – HUMSS), 134 students for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (Academic Track – STEM), and 264 students decided to take the Technical – Vocational and Livelihood Track.

DCNHS Administration is fully aware of the emerging concerns brought by the implementation of Senior High School. But despite these ‘roadblocks’, DCNHS is able to manage these concerns by providing alternative plans and solutions. In fact, some of the existing teachers in the junior high school who have earned National Certification (NC), masters’ and doctorate degrees are assigned to teach ‘temporarily’ in the Senior High School in the incoming school year since teachers’ items for SHS are still being finalized. Available classrooms and laboratories are also maximized to cater SHS students. Moreover, private schools in Cluster 1 of this division have also placed their enrolment satellites inside the DCNHS campus to give the incoming grade 11 students more options where to pursue SHS.

The Department of Education (DepEd) has already announced through the DepEd Order No. 23 s. 2016 that the opening of classes for School Year 2016-2017 is on June 13, Monday.

For more concerns and inquiries, students and parents may contact the DCNHS Oplan Balik Eskwela hotlines (082) 227-9102 or (082) 224-1639. They may also like the official Facebook page: DCNHS Media Relations_Official or visit the official website www.davaocnhs.edu.ph.

MENSAHE MULA SA TAGAPAMANIHALA NG MGA PAARALAN PARA SA MGA MAGTATAPOS NG BAITANG 10 PDF Print E-mail
